A trip to the museum

What can be better to practice your drawing skills other than a day sketching at the museum?

The Singapore Tyler Print Institute (STPI, Robertson Quay, Singapore) offered the French artist printer Isabelle Desjeux and Sophie a perfect drawing field to invite the children to practice their observation skills and their mark-making by studying some of the 800 lithographs, intaglios… done by Henri Matisse.

The chidren were invited to sketch in a “Mark-making” exercise booklet and on bigger sheets of paper, experimenting different type of pencils, during an 1h30 min workshop, that could even have lasted longer!
